Citroen’s new Creta, Grand Vitara rival global unveil on April 27: New Made in India SUV could be called C3 Aircross

What could possibly be known as the ‘C3 Aircross’, the upcoming mid-size SUV is all set to make its global debut on April 27. The new SUV will be positioned above the C3 tallboy hatchback and under the flagship C5 Aircross. While details about the upcoming Citroen SUV are bleak so far, it will likely carry over the quirky styling elements from its siblings including the plastic cladding all around, funky dual-tone colours, and even C3’s split-headlamp design.

Despite probably being based on the same platform, the ‘C3 Aircross’ will be larger than the C3. However, it could carry over the latter’s 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 110 PS of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque. While this engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission only, the SUV will also likely get an automatic option.
While the upcoming Citroen mid-size SUV will be available with a 5-seat configuration as standard, a 7-seat layout could be introduced at a later date which will help it take on the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, among other similarly priced three-row SUVs.
