Four people killed after car collides with truck on Hume Highway
Four people have died after a car and truck collided on the Hume Highway near the Victoria-NSW border on Thursday morning.
The car and the B-double truck crashed into each other at 10.30am in Chiltern, around 30 kilometres east of Wodonga.
All four occupants of the sedan died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 30-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Detectives from the major collision investigation unit are on their way to the scene.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing,” a spokeswoman for Victoria Police said.
North-bound lanes of traffic on the freeway are closed from Springhurst Road.
