However, the event was canceled before the scheduled performance due to suspicion of tax fraud.
The event organizer stated that there have previously been no issues organizing performances with Assyrian artists.
Regardless, much indicates that the organizer did not provide all the necessary paperwork before the planned event, which caused it to be canceled.
Jendo, who has recorded songs in Turoyo, Chaldean Neo-Aramaic, and Arabic, in addition to her mostly folk dance music repertoire, has performed in Sweden several times through the years without any complications.
Many of the singer’s fans were concerned about the situation, and discussions took place on social media sites like Reddit.
Nonetheless, thankfully, the singer has been released, as stated by the team of the singer.
Later that day, Juliana’s release was announced in a statement on her social media, following efforts from Swedish Assyrian lawyers.
