Family Life
Engelbert resides in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, with her husband Ed Martin, a West Point graduate and former Army helicopter pilot.
The couple has two children: daughter Julia and son Tommy.
Julia, now an adult, has publicly expressed admiration for her mother’s ability to balance her career and family life.
In a touching Mother’s Day tribute, she wrote,

Daughter Julia is a Senior Financial Analyst at Johnson & Johnson, where she has been working for over 5 years.
She graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, focusing on Marketing, Business Analytics, and Business Law.
Prior to her career at Johnson & Johnson, she gained experience through internships at Cushman & Wakefield and MWWPR.
Moreover, her academic background also includes studying Global Political Economics at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.
On the other hand, son Tommy is a recent graduate who began his career as an Audit & Assurance Assistant at Deloitte in September 2023.
He completed his degree in Accounting from Lehigh University, where he studied from August 2019 to May 2023.
During his time at Lehigh, Tommy gained valuable experience through internships, including an Audit & Assurance Summer Internship at Deloitte and a role as a Real Estate Market Researcher at Villa Restaurant Group.
His professional journey has been centered in New Jersey, with experiences in Morristown and Parsippany.
Passion For Sports
As WNBA Commissioner, Engelbert has brought her business acumen and personal love of sports to the league.
She actively promotes the WNBA, often taking family members to games.
“I took my daughter to Liberty game at Barclays Center and she loved it,” Engelbert shared in an interview. “Everyone’s so impressed with the level of play on our courts, everyone I took had never been to a WNBA game before.”
